A ᅠpractical activity on comparative anatomy where students will dissect a variety of specimens is included in this course. Activity based practicals involve small group (~ 18 students) teaching which will involve hands-on interaction including handling, restraint. Thisᅠ practical component of the course will focus on preparing students to enable them to competently and safely complete their preclinical extramural studies placements and be able to progress to training in the clinical examination ofᅠanimals. ᅠᅠ

Task description
UQ Faculty of Science prioritises the safety of our students on approved industry placements. As part of this commitment, an OH&S package has been developed by the UQ Student Enrichment and Employability Division for students to complete, specific to EMS. It is very important to note that this module is a pre-placement necessity, therefore, we require your participation in completing this package of modules. The package has been aptly termed, it indeed will take you less than 5 minutes to complete the 5 modules. While we have many mechanisms in place to safeguard your EMS experience, completing these short modules enables you to appreciate OH&S considerations as you prepare for EMS, and represents an additional means of promoting a safe working environment for you and your placement provider.
Students, in their own time during the semester, will self-enrol and complete the 5 in 5 Science course.
