Advanced concepts and practices used in the sustainable management of cattle, sheep and goat enterprises in Australia.

Evidence of immunity to Q fever is mandatory for the In Person offering of course. Refer to UQ Student Immunisation Requirements for more information.

Thisᅠcourse will cover advanced concepts in the management and husbandryᅠof cattle (both dairy and beef), sheep and goats.ᅠWe will also cover aspects of economic and environmental sustainability as relevant to the target species.ᅠMuch of what we discuss will be aimed at best practice - not necessarily the only practice suitable for various production systems. Students will cover topics such as parasites, pasture management as well asᅠgeneral husbandry and management practices.

This course will encourage interaction among students and teaching staff, including problem based learning and self directed lecture modules. We expect that you will read widely and ask questions.
