Deferred exams

Deferred exams can be requested for the following assessment items:

  • End-of-semester exam

You'll need to demonstrate how exceptional and unavoidable circumstances prevented you from sitting your exam. If you can’t, you can apply for a one-off discretionary deferred exam.

Your application must include supporting evidence. We will assess your request based on the evidence you provide when you apply. Here's some general advice:

  • Supporting evidence should be in written English (or translated by a NAATI-accredited translator).
  • Statutory declarations are only allowed when you can't obtain the required supporting evidence (e.g. a police report, road service report, etc.)
  • Keep original copies of your supporting evidence for at least 6 months. If you fail to produce the original documents, your deferred exam application may be refused or overturned.

Students applying for a deferred exam must submit a ‘deferred examination request’ through mySI-net. You can save this application and come back to it at any time. Applications should be submitted no later than 5 calendar days after the date of the original exam.

Further information regarding what constitutes an acceptable reason for a deferring an exam is listed on the my.UQ website Deferring an exam - my.UQ - University of Queensland

In this course, only My Professional Showcase and Clinical Placement Reflection Part A are eligible for consideration for the resubmission option if the assessment item was submitted on time.

Students who are granted a resubmission for an assessment item and do not submit by the scheduled date will not be granted an extension.

Students will be eligible for a maximum of one resubmission option for this course.
