This course is the sixth of the discipline-specific clinical courses for DClinDent students and continues on from DENT8050. The objectives are to progressively build competence and confidence at final year level in specialty clinical practice and knowledge, which will enable independent practice as a discipline specialist.

This course prepares the candidate for the program's final examinations. It should not contain substantially new material but will build on previously presented didactic seminar, clinical materials and work completed to ensure the candidate has achieved the standards and competencies required to present for the final examination, and graduate as a dental specialist.

The specific course content will vary depending upon the clinical discipline the candidate is enrolled in. Specific discipline learning objectives, course materials, learning activities and assessments will be provided to the students by their respective Discipline Lead, as follows:

  • Endodontics: Professor Ove Peters
  • Orthodontics: Dr Elissa Freer
  • Periodontics: Dr Ryan Lee
  • Prosthodontics: Associate Professor David Thomson
