Consolidation of the German language skills developed in GRMN1010.
Students with prior learning may be able to commence their studies at an appropriately advanced level. Further information is available from the School of Languages and Cultures.

Students with limited experience of second-language learning should note that GRMN1020 builds on the content of GRMN1010, and assumes that students have effective knowledge of that course.ᅠThe reason for this is that second-language learning is cumulative.

The level of competence inculcated by GRMN1020 is similar to that inculcated by Senior German.ᅠThe School of Languages and Cultures treats a pass in GRMN1020 as equivalent to a pass in Senior German for the purposes of continuing German-language study.

Course requirements

Please note also that enrolments may be refused on the basis of such knowledge or abilities, and enrolment in a different course may be recommended. A student's enrolment in a course for which s/he holds incompatible qualifications may be cancelled at any time. Such cancellation may involve forfeiture of credit, and students may remain liable for course fees.
