This is an upper advanced level course. It is an introduction to teaching Japanese as a second language in school settings. The course requirements include school visits (primary and/or secondary) in W9-12. Students will spend minimum 4 hours per week at their allocated schools, assisting teachers and students in class activities. This course is suitable not only for pre-service teachers but students who have a general interest in teaching Japanese as a second language.

School allocation of individual students for their internshipᅠ (28 ᅠAprilᅠ- 23ᅠ May) will be finalised by Week 2, and therefore late enrollment (after Week 3) does not apply. Students who are not available for the internship for the 4-week period will not be accepted. Students must have a valid Blue Card before the semester starts.

Students who do not submit their host school preference by 5 March (Week 2)ᅠ will not be placed for internship.

Regular attendance and active participation in class discussion is vital for successful completion of the course. ᅠThis course is not suitable for students who are not able to attend classᅠ regularly.
