This course focuses on the A2 level (Basic User) of the CEFR language proficiency scale, particularly on developing aural/oral skills (listening and speaking) in the Korean language up to the (Low) B1 level (Independent User). It introduces real-life situations in the Korean context and provides intercultural communication skills through the study of adapted and authentic texts. The course introduces students to a range of new language elements through various topics and real-life language situations in the Korean context. Some topics are also discussed in cross-cultural comparison with Australia when applicable, supporting students in their employability opportunities. This course is designed to primarily improve students' aural/oral skills while maintaining a balance in the development of listening/speaking, reading, writing, and cultural competence, up to the (Low) B1 (Independent User) level.

As a continuation of KORN2020/2022, KORN3005 builds on the communication skills previously acquired, ensuring a seamless transition and further development of language proficiency. To maximize learning outcomes, it is highly recommended that students take KORN3006 concurrently, as it focuses on further developing reading and writing skills.
