This course introduces students to principles of effective leaders and develops understanding of clinical teaching. The student will examine team dynamics, characteristics of effective healthcare teams and personal leadership styles. The influence of hierarchy and the application of assertive communication and conflict resolution will be considered. Students will identify adult teaching and learning approaches and reflect on contemporary clinical workforce needs and future directions. The development of critical and reflective practice skills and capability to lead change, will equip emerging nurses to engage with workplace learning communities and promote quality healthcare.

This assessment aims to encourage critical reflection on feedback received during Semester 1, 2025. You will analyse the effectiveness of this feedback, explore a feedback model, and propose improvements in using this model. Additionally, you will identify resources to enhance your nursing practice based on the feedback.

Extension guidelines
- Extension requests should be submitted prior to the assessment deadline.
- Extension requests must state the due date and the due time of the assessment.
- Requests for extensions received after the assessment item submission due date may not be approved. Late requests must include evidence of the reasons for the late request.
- The extension granted should be in proportion to the period of illness or disruption caused by the exceptional circumstances and will typically be no more than the specified maximum extension length.
- Students on a Student Access Plan (SAP) with a clause on extension requests must still adhere to the extensions request policy outlined. Students need to attach the SAP and a note outlining their current situation with the online extension application. A maximum of 7 days will be granted on the basis of an SAP. An extension request beyond 7 days will require additional supporting information as this request will not be considered on the basis of the SAP, but rather additional events (whether they relate to the circumstances of the SAP or not).

- Extension requests are generally processed within 2 working days. Students can see the outcome of their application by logging in to my.UQ.
Late submission
A penalty of 10% of the maximum possible mark will be deducted per 24 hours from time submission is due for up to 7 days. After 7 days, you will receive a mark of 0.

Task description
- The assessment will use the INSPERA platform during the mid-semester exam period and will be held online, on campus and will be invigilated.
- Timetables for Saturday in-semester exams only are published on the my.UQ homepage around 4 weeks before the exams are scheduled.
- A personal exam timetable will be emailed to your student email address with the date and time of your Saturday exams.
- A subsequent timetable with venue information will be emailed to you approximately 7 days before the exam period if you are required to be on campus for an exam.
- Examination content will be taken from online learning modules 1 and 2, readings, week 5 lecture and IBL sessions weeks 1-6.

The exam will only be available in Inspera Assessment for the duration of your exam. You will not be permitted to click START until directed to do so by your Exam Invigilator.

To do this you need to:
Develop and present a clinical teaching session:
- Identify and justify ONE (1) learning need in the clinical area using a learning needs analysis. Select a domain of learning, identify the context (ward area) and target audience.
- Select and justify one adult learning theory you have used to plan this session.
- Plan an effective teaching session that includes a relevant topic, clear learning outcomes, and content designed to address and bridge the identified knowledge or skill deficit.

· Students who have a disability or a chronic medical condition (including a mental health condition) are encouraged to meet with a Disability Advisor within Student Services to request a Student Access Plan (SAP) with a clause on extension requests. Students who have an SAP can apply for a 7-day extension.
