This course combines business management with a consideration of the role of other health professions. Strategic, financial, inventory and human resource management are developed, encompassing aspects of community and hospital pharmacy. Students learn the essentials of strategic business planning and sustainable business. This course commences in week 5 of semester.

This course integrates the skills, concepts and information gathered from years 1-3 of the undergraduate Pharmacy program within the context of the social and professional roles of a pharmacist. It will deliver theoretical business concepts and also provide students with the opportunity to start acquiring managerial skills through observation and practice. The skills acquisition component will facilitate the effective translation of management theory to the contemporary pharmacy workplace setting and to explore the pharmacist's role in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
