Task description
Students produce a thesis in the style of a manuscript for publication of between 5,500 and 7,000 words (including references but excluding words in tables, figures and appendices). Students are encouraged to use the APA style paper template in Word. In accordance with APA style, the thesis should have sections corresponding to the Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and References. Separate Results and Discussion sections are required. The precise organisation in terms of sections and headings should mirror that of a publication but can be tailored to the project, and accommodate the number of experiments, pilot and validation tests, and so on. Do provide additional (informative) headings within the Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion sections where they assist the reader. The manuscript should be typed in Times New Roman or similarly readable font in minimum 11 point, double-spaced, and with standard page margins.
Student are required to upload an electronic copy of their thesis and any attached appendices via Turnitin. The thesis will be marked by two internal markers within the School. If the thesis is submitted after the due date, the supervisor will be required to approach and seek agreement from suitable markers.
THE THESIS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE DUE DATE; AIM TO HAVE A COMPLETE THESIS DRAFT TO YOUR SUPERVISOR ONE MONTH BEFORE THE DUE DATE.
Submission guidelines
Submit electronically via Turnitin
Deferral or extension
You cannot defer or apply for an extension for this assessment.
ALL requests for extensions MUST be submitted to the Course Coordinator prior to the due date. Students are required to email the coordinator, have the support of their supervisor for the request and include any additional information or documentation (ie medical certificates) to support their request.
If the thesis is not submitted by the due date above then a grade of Incomplete can be entered by the Director of Clinical Programs, at the request of the candidate and supervisor. The Incomplete grade can only be approved for a limited period as outlined in the University General Award Rules. For example, if you are enrolled in Part B in Semester 1 the maximun extension possible to be granted is for the thesis to be submitted three weeks before classes recommence after the mid-semester break in Semester 2. If you are enrolled in Part B in Semester 2, the maximun extension possible is for the thesis to be submitted by the Friday three weeks before the first day of teaching in Semester 1 of the following year. A further extension can only be granted on approval of the Associate Dean (Academic) in exceptional circumstances and an application must include demonstration of progress towards completion. If a further extension is approved the thesis must be submitted before the release of results in the following semester (or earlier as determined by the Associate Dean). No further extensions can be granted and students who fail to submit will be awarded a failing grade and required to undertake a new dissertation to meet program requirements.
Students experiencing significant issues that will affect their progress and/or submission of the thesis should seek advice from their Supervisor and/or the Course Coordinator as soon as possible.
Late submission
A penalty of 10% of the maximum possible mark will be deducted per 24 hours from time submission is due for up to 7 days. After 7 days, you will receive a mark of 0.

Task description
The assessment will be completed in the tutorial class. The due date is determined by the class allocation.
This is a team assessment, and all team members are expected to contribute equally to the team’s assessment items during the tutorial. Teams will be assigned prior to the tutorial. There are two (2) parts to this assessment both based upon a client case conference role play that your team will complete during the tutorial class.
Part one requires you to complete a worksheet and will draw on your case conference role play, focusing on role-clarification, team functioning and client-centred care.
Length: There is no word limit for the worksheet.
Part two requires you to complete a team reflection on the processes adopted during your case conference role play specifically focusing on interprofessional communication, team functioning, conflict management and collaborative leadership.
Length: The team reflection will be limited to 500 words.
Teams will need to submit both assessment pieces in the Assessment tab on the IPCP Learn.UQ course site prior to the end of the tutorial class. Additional information regarding submission will be provided on the IPCP Learn.UQ course site.
Please refer to the assessment information on Learn.UQ for further details and requirements for the assessment.
