This course provides students with an opportunity to apply the tools and skills that they have developed over the course of the program to research. It involves a significant element of research and analysis, and students will be exposed to both industry and academic best practice in research.

This task involves critiquing the research methods used in a piece of applied research, evaluating the research against characteristics of quality research covered in the course.

Task description
This task involves students identifying a relevant academic paper and presenting it during tutorials. The presentation will focus on analysing how the paper has applied one of the statistical techniques that is central to finance research.
Please Note: The presentation will be recorded for marking purposes per UQ Policy.

Task description
The data assignment requires students to download financial data and analyse the data using statistical research techniques learned in class. Students will be required to download data during class but prepare the final paper independently. Students will be required to write a report documenting and drawing conclusions from their findings. More details will be provided on Blackboard and discussed in class.
